Mays Nabs SBL Weekly Award Monday, May 14th, 2012 The hottest bat of the week belonged to Arkansas left fielder Ben Mays. He went on a rampage last week against SBL hurlers and rapped out 13 hits in 22 at-bats for a .591 average while hitting 5 home runs, driving in 13 runs and scoring 12 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Skip Bertman League Player of the Week trophy. Mays was honored today at a press conference. In 37 games this season Mays has batted at a .358 pace with 49 hits and 11 home runs. |
