Glover Tags 3 HR Against Ducks
Tuesday, March 14th, 2017
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is usually something special to celebrate. But Chris Glover of UCLA couldn't really celebrate it. In spite of his career day, the Bruins lost to the Ducks 11-6. However, he can celebrate that he joined a select group of players who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today against the Oregon Ducks.
In all he was 3-3 against Oregon with 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
Glover told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air real quickly. It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him. Chris is quite a competitor."
Chris Glover hit a solo-shot off Jesús Valenzuela in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Valenzuela in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
In his 2017 season totals, Glover has 5 home runs, .308 BA, .538 OBP, 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
