Cruz Slams 5 Hits for Missouri Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 Missouri first baseman Wilson Cruz could do no wrong in today's 19-11 win over the Jayhawks as he collected 5 hits. "In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Jayhawks said to the press corps after the game. Cruz agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Wilson Cruz hit a three-run double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. So far this season Cruz is hitting .294 with 10 home runs, 51 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 59 hits in 201 at-bats and a .368 OBP. |
