Skipper Kawashima Dismissed by Ohio State Thursday, June 4th, 2015 The future of the Ohio State Buckeyes will not include Susumu Kawashima. Much-criticized for his in-game managing by local scribes of late, Kawashima has been fired as manager of the Buckeyes. The decision is believed to have been made primarily by the team's owner, who was always quick to publicly criticize Kawashima's decisions on the field and in the clubhouse. When reached at his home in Ohio State, the owner said the decision was made "in the best interest of the team," but he refused to elaborate on the specific reasons which led to the firing. Kawashima told BNN he plans to explore his options for another job in baseball. "I'll miss Ohio State and I'll miss the Buckeyes, but I won't miss having everything I do second-guessed," he said. |
