League Gives Wise and Williams 5-Game Suspensions
Tuesday, May 12th, 2015
Tempers were flaring yesterday at South Paris College Grounds. Both the Tigers and Wildcats were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown, but fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, LSU's Dustin Wise and Arizona's Philip Williams were ejected from the game.
Today the league office suspended Wise and Williams for 5 games each.
In 33 games this season Wise is batting .257 with 28 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 20 runs and driven in 13.
So far this year Williams has made 18 relief appearances with no saves, thrown 16.2 innings and struck out 17 with a 1-2 record.
