Eagles Snap Dyer's Streak at 24 Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 William Dyer, shortstop for the Westside Road Warriors, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Whitewater Eagles. Not only had they stopped his 24-game hitting streak, they had beaten Westside 3-1, too. Speaking with the media after the game, Dyer said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Dyer on the season is hitting .329 with 6 home runs. His stats include 39 RBIs and 52 runs scored. |
