Afendulov Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Thursday, May 31st, 2018 Alek Afendulov of the Kingwood Knights just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting first baseman went 3-for-4 in his team's 16-7 victory over the St. Paul Saints at Stable Park and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Saints pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway." When asked about his performance, Afendulov said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win." Alek Afendulov flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in a run in the 7th. Thus far this season Afendulov is hitting .328 with 4 home runs, 29 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 62 hits in 189 at-bats and has played in 51 games. |
