5-5 Game for Lott Monday, May 21st, 2018 What a day for Greg Lott of the Palm Beach Bums! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Cherry Hill pitching apart at Tim Raines Stadium and sparked the Bums to a 15-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Lott told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Greg Lott singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Randy Barry in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. Looking at his present stats, Lott has compiled a .388 batting average in 42 games with a .493 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 29 runs. |
