Rivera Bashes 5 Base Hits Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Manuel Rivera got one today. He scattered hits all over Tim Raines Stadium to pace New Orleans to a 16-5 victory over Cherry Hill. The Cherry Hill skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Rivera hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Manuel Rivera flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this season Rivera has 1 home run and a .342 batting average. |
