Star of the Week Named in BOL Monday, April 23rd, 2018 Barrow fans have something to crow about today as Barrow center fielder Tony Negrete nabbed the Buck O'Neil League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Negrete. He posted a .538 average (7-13) this past week with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. Looking at his present stats, Negrete has compiled a .367 batting average in 15 games with a .457 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 12 runs. |
