It's Over: Hornets Stop Guillén
Saturday, April 21st, 2018
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Tempe first baseman Daniel Guillén went hitless in 3 at-bats today in the Titans 7-3 win over Bethesda at Silvery Lane Field.
In a postgame interview, he said, "Nope, not superstitious. Streaks don't last forever. Nobody jinxed me. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."
His manager said, "It's not like we could go 20 games without talking to him."
This year Guillén is hitting .408 with 31 hits, 5 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 21 runs.
