Stingrays Hurler Named August's #1 Starter Friday, September 1st, 2017 There's something about a young rookie winning the August Herrman League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Scott Weatherby, a 19-year-old starter for the Sanford Stingrays. In August, he topped off the month with a 5-0 mark and 1.66 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 38 innings, fanned 37 and held opposing teams to a .174 average. To date this year in 13 starts, Weatherby has crafted a 8-3 mark with a 2.75 ERA. |
