Purcell Goes on Rampage Against Blue Claws Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 It was a sensational day at the plate for Dave Purcell as he led the charge to a 17-1 win over the Blue Claws. The Winfield left fielder was pure misery for the Baltimore pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Blue Claws told BNN reporters after the game, "Purcell put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Dave Purcell singled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Reese Powell in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Purcell is batting .348 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs this season. |
