Sakei Red-Hot, BOL Player of the Week
Monday, June 13th, 2016
The hottest bat of the week belonged to Kingwood third baseman Totoya Sakei.
He went on a rampage last week against BOL hurlers and rapped out 11 hits in 28 at-bats for a .393 average while hitting 2 home runs, driving in 9 runs and scoring 5 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Buck O'Neil League Player of the Week trophy.
Sakei was honored today at a press conference.
This season Sakei has delivered 41 hits in 127 at-bats for a .323 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .463 clip and his totals also include 25 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year Sakei has played in 39 games.
