May's Premier Batter Announced Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 José Carlos Mata is on a tear! After posting a .364 average in May, the Huntsville designated hitter took home the August Herrman League Batter of the Month award handed out earlier today. He cracked 36 hits with 7 home runs and 30 RBIs and scored 26 runs. The 20-year-old also collected 23 free passes and posted a .480 on-base percentage. Thus far this year Mata is batting .339 with 13 home runs, 46 RBIs and 46 runs scored. |
