Player of the Week Trophy to Vélez Monday, May 16th, 2016 August Herrman League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Bernardo Vélez, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .571 for the week to win the AHL Player of the Week Award. The Huntsville left fielder cracked 12 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs, drove in 6 runs and scored 5 times. Thus far this season Vélez has hit .386 with 4 home runs, 34 RBIs and scored 25 times. |
