Sanford's Martínez AHL #1 Batter in June Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 Felipe Martínez is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Sanford center fielder joined that select company when the August Herrman League announced the results of June's voting. Martínez totaled 33 hits, 8 walks, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 13 runs scored last month to put together a .344 batting average and .400 on-base percentage. In 65 games this year Martínez has posted a .267 average and put up these numbers: 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 26 runs scored. |
