Barrow's Smith Collects August Batting Honor Sunday, September 1st, 2013 Malcolm Smith is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Barrow shortstop joined that select company when the Buck O'Neil League announced the results of August's voting. Smith totaled 39 hits, 16 walks, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 19 runs scored last month to put together a .368 batting average and .447 on-base percentage. This year Smith has hit at a .356 pace and produced 27 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 38 runs. |
