Rivera Week's Best Player Monday, August 13th, 2012 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week José Rivera of the Newark Jail Birds reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Rivera rocked opposing pitching for a .440 average (11-25), 4 home runs and 15 RBIs to come away with the award. So far this year, Rivera is batting .300 with 16 home runs and 81 RBIs. |
