After his 9-0 no-hitter over the Lubbock Longhorns he responded, "I don't know," said Newark's Terumoto Yamamoto with a grin. "To do what I did, I guess it takes both." On his historic day at Cobras Ballpark Yamamoto made good pitches the entire game, fanned 8 and had 3 walks. When the Longhorns hit the ball hard, they hit it right at someone for an out. But that's how you get a no-hitter -- a lot of skill mixed with a little luck. In 13 starts this season Yamamoto has compiled a 3-4 record and a 4.54 ERA. |
