Liriano and Aguirre Suspended 5 Games For Brawl
Friday, September 7th, 2018
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Rams-Tourists game at Outlander Park yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Frisco's Luis Liriano and Asheville's António Aguirre.
Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 5 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.
In his season totals Liriano has 25 home runs and a .267 batting average.
Season-to-date, Aguirre has rung up 2 saves in 27 relief appearances. He has 21 strikeouts and 23 walks in 31.2 innings while registering a 6.25 ERA and a 0-1 won-lost record.
