Ávila Belts Bunch of Base Hits Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 At Cobras Ballpark Carlos Ávila was the King of Swing today in the 11-3 win over the Jail Birds. The Jacksonville center fielder stepped into the batter's box 6 times against the Newark and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 6! It does wonders for your batting average, too." Carlos Ávila singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jayson Moore in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. In his stats this season, Ávila has posted a batting average of .291 with 23 hits in 79 at-bats, 1 home run and 11 RBIs. He has also scored 18 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .411 OBP. |
