"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Marxists manager told reporters after today's game. The Goers ran into a buzzsaw as Eugene Wright cut them down to size 8-0 with a 4-hit shutout.

His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one." In the complete game whitewash the Prussian hurler doled out no walks and registered 8 strikeouts.

In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Eugene goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."

Wright also got some praise from the Temple manager. "He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."

To date this season Wright sports a 9-10 mark with a 4.83 ERA in 26 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .272 batting average and has 130 strikeouts in 158.1 innings.
