Newark's Henneberry Collects May Batting Honor Friday, June 1st, 2018 John Henneberry of the Newark Jail Birds spoke softly and carried a big stick in May and was justifiably proclaimed the Alexander Cartwright League Batter of the Month. The Jail Birds first baseman rapped out a .315 batting average with 34 hits in 108 at-bats, drove in 32, scored 31 runs and chalked up a .422 on-base percentage. Posting a .338 batting average to date, Henneberry has 20 home runs and 68 RBIs. |
