Cherry Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 26 Thursday, April 26th, 2018 The Jail Birds lost to Jacksonville today by the score of 10-7 at Cobras Ballpark, but the bigger story was the end of a hit streak. Newark second baseman Matt Cherry was working on a 26-game hitting streak, but went 0-for-2 against the Hellcats as the hot stretch came to an end. Presently Cherry is batting .386 and has collected no home runs, 15 RBIs, .470 OBP and scored 11 runs. |
