Rats SS López Suspended 3 Games Sunday, June 10th, 2012 Cristo López was suspended by the league for 3 games for "inappropriate conduct on the field," stemming from an altercation during a game with the Newark Jail Birds yesterday at The Rat Hole. The Rock River shortstop refused to leave the field for several minutes after being ejected by the home plate umpire over a third-strike call. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field, but had to step between him and the umpire several times. Rats officials told the press López was not available for comment after the game. López is hitting .270 for the season with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 17 hits in 63 at-bats and played in 38 games. |
