Wood Guns Down Mustang Friday, September 29th, 2017 Will Wood of Cincinnati easily handled the Carson City Mustang, stopping them on 1 hit and chucking a complete-game 5-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said the Carson City manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." Wood said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big." He finished the game with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing. Looking at his season stats, Wood has won 9 and lost 9, collecting 150 strikeouts and 88 walks in 152 innings with a 4.56 ERA. |
