Singleton Cracks 5 Hits

If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Chris Singleton showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Long Island Ducks and helped the Wichita Wolverines beat them 12-8.

The manager for the Ducks told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."

If Singleton keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.

Chris Singleton hit a solo-shot off David Powell in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

Singleton is presently hitting at a .221 pace with 7 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 128 games and scored 52 times.
