ACL Best Hitter Award to Riverside's Darwin Benson Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 Darwin Benson put together a good July to earn the Alexander Cartwright League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Riverside officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Red Bulls shortstop posted a .341 batting average with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and 14 runs scored. For the season Benson has produced 60 hits in 187 at-bats for a .321 average with 9 home runs and gotten on base at a .430 clip. |
