Star of the Week Honored in ACL Monday, July 10th, 2017 24-year-old Joel Franklin made a few Lubbock headlines during this past week as the rookie third baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Alexander Cartwright League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 9 hits in 24 at-bats to put up a .375 average. Franklin collected 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 6 runs. During the current season Franklin is batting at a .297 clip with 32 home runs and 80 RBIs. He has played in 81 games and scored 72 times. |
