Pérez Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, July 1st, 2017 It was a big day with the bat for Robinson Pérez of the Lake of the Isles Wolves at Red Bull Stadium as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Riverside 16-15. After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 6 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story." At the end of the game Pérez had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Wolves had won. Robinson Pérez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Kumanosuke Ine in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. So far in 2017 Pérez is batting .221 with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has 65 hits in 294 at-bats and a .337 OBP. |
