Devos Whacks 3 out of the Park for Asheville Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 Franck Devos of the Asheville Tourists had a lot to celebrate in today's 8-1 win over the Spokane Bulldogs. Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of McCormick Field. He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today." The powerful Asheville right fielder tagged 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 runs and scored 3 times in his three-home-run outburst. Devos added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one... and then he hit another homer," the Spokane manager said. "We just couldn't get him out." Franck Devos flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joe Davis in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Joe Davis in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Jacob Owens in the 7th. Presently Devos is hitting .250 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 20 games and scored 10 times. |
