Jail Birds Reliever Davis Injured
Monday, April 25th, 2016
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Les Davis of the Jail Birds knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Cincinnati Snaps while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn labrum, the Newark reliever is expected to miss 9 months. Davis was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
For the season Davis is 2-and-1 with 2 saves and a 2.57 ERA. He has given up 11 hits in 14 innings with 14 strikeouts.
