Whitecaps Contreras July's Top Hurler Saturday, August 1st, 2015 Over the past month José Contreras has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Alexander Cartwright League. He proved all that and now he's been named July's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Grand Haven Whitecaps posted 6-0 mark and a 3.75 ERA. In 7 starts he tossed 48 innings, permitted 46 hits and fanned 42 batters. To this point in the season Contreras has 12 wins and 6 losses and a 4.13 ERA. |
