Player of the Week: Anniston's Bruton Monday, September 29th, 2014 So far in his young career, Don Bruton has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Alexander Cartwright League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 23-year-old Anniston Cougars center fielder hit at a torrid .417 clip as he collected 10 hits in 24 at-bats, 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 9 runs scored. For the year Bruton has hit at a .251 clip with 64 RBIs, 15 home runs and 90 runs scored. |
