Fox Goes 5-6
Tuesday, September 16th, 2014
Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Howling Park when Michael Fox of Wichita scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Carson City Mustang.
He was down and a little subdued with mixed feelings in the postgame interview. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for the Wolverines. The bottom line in baseball is to win. We didn't do it today," he told the press after the game.
He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career day performance, but it was the Mustang, who won the ballgame 10-8.
However, the second baseman of the Wolverines did have this to say: "My swing was really, really there today. I made some good, solid contact and when that happens... good things happen. Sure, 5-6 and losing is better than going 0-5 and losing. I'll take 2-4 and a win and be overjoyed. I ain't greedy."
Michael Fox flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th.
Fox is currently batting .304 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs.
