Lights Fontenla Raps 3 Homers Monday, September 15th, 2014 Santiago Fontenla was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the Phoenix 12-1 triumph over San Antonio, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands. Nobody who was at The Clone Army will forget this home run outburst anytime soon. The Phoenix second baseman went 3-4, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. He told the press corps after his three home run binge, "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight. I can't wait until tomorrow's game. I really feel good at the plate." Santiago Fontenla hit a solo-shot off Bill Pearce in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bill Pearce in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Yuan Mak in the 7th. This year Fontenla is batting .281 with 123 hits, 9 home runs, 55 RBIs, 70 walks, .377 OBP and has scored 87 runs. |
