Super Swinger -- Kitamura Slams 5 Hits Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Soshu Kitamura got one today. He scattered hits all over Cowboys Stadium to pace Blackpool to a 24-5 victory over Carson City. The Carson City skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Kitamura hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Soshu Kitamura doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. Kitamura is hitting .350 this year with 1 home run and 29 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .404, 24 walks and scored 41 times. |
