Cy Young Award Goes to Joplin Hurler Friday, November 2nd, 2018 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Pablo Cuevas performed like a veteran on the hill for the Joplin Fireballs and walked away with the Blake Camden League Cy Young Award in the process. The 24-year-old Fireballs star fashioned a 15-6 won-loss record in 2018 with a 4.19 ERA. In 193.1 innings of work and 31 starts, Cuevas struck out 168 while giving up 176 hits and 103 walks. He held opposing batters to a .240 average. |
