League Rules Delhaye Out 4 Games
Thursday, August 2nd, 2018
The agitation was hot and heavy at Ashton Gate yesterday. After a called third strike Warriors right fielder Patrice Delhaye protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Delhaye was ejected from the game.
"It was verbal, nothing more," according to Delhaye. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 4 games.
"The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification.
Hitting .271 to date, Delhaye has 16 home runs and 65 RBIs. He has played in 107 games.
