Makaev Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, June 16th, 2018 The Phantoms proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Warriors 3-2, but Badry Makaev continued his god-like hitting as he collected 2 hits and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting left fielder, the Coronado skipper said, "Makaev is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Makaev was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Badry Makaev doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Makaev has banged out 100 hits in 287 at-bats for a .348 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .440 pace and his totals also include 30 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |
