Sunday, October 1st, 2017
Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask José Ramos, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Fort Worth Cats closer, 21, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .302 average and walked away with the Kade Stenson League Pitcher of the Month award for September.
Ramos posted a 4-0 mark and a 1.15 ERA in 12 relief appearances. In 15.2 innings, he had 5 saves, 10 strikeouts, and 5 walks.
To date, Ramos has 21 saves. In 66 relief appearances he has tossed 60.2 innings, fanned 44 and given up 30 walks with 6 wins and 5 losses. The Fort Worth reliever has recorded a 4.60 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .284 when he on the mound.
