Manning Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 25
Saturday, June 24th, 2017
It was the best of both worlds for the Philadelphia Freedom today at House of Pain as they defeated the Reno Raiders 16-1 and also ended Doug Manning's 25-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Reno right fielder failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Doug, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Freedom skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Manning frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."

So far this season Manning has 5 home runs and a .331 batting average.
