Bad Behavior Costs Velásquez and Lejeune
Friday, June 9th, 2017
You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. A free-for-all broke out when Armando Velásquez of Albuquerque and Juan Lejeune of Pasadena rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game.
Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 6 games.
Looking at his present stats, Velásquez has compiled a .197 batting average in 47 games with a .258 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 28 runs.
In the 2017 campaign Lejeune has 2 saves. In 19 relief appearances he has tossed 19.2 innings, struck out 27 and yielded 10 walks with a 2-0 record. The Pasadena reliever has recorded a 5.49 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .263 when he is in the game.
