Watson Clips Diablos for Cycle
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016
It was a quite a day for Harry Watson at The Firepit! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Joplin center fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 14-1 victory over the El Paso Diablos.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Watson went 4-5 in the game with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Harry Watson hit a solo-shot off Yoshiaga Ueno in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th and hit a two-run double in the 6th.
This year Watson has hit at a .269 clip with 107 hits, 9 home runs, 47 RBIs and 68 runs scored.
