Chávez 5-6 for Acapulco Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Héctor Chávez of the Acapulco Banditos had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 10-9 win over the Bristol City Smugglers at Underdogs Ballpark. The 23-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." Héctor Chávez singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and flied out in the 10th. During the current season Chávez is batting at a .281 clip with 9 home runs and 50 RBIs. He has played in 89 games and scored 49 times. |
