5-Hit Blitz by Birmingham's Lawson Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Birmingham's Gary Lawson had a very special day against the Stingrays when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Birmingham Bobcats to a 8-2 win at Bobcats Field. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Lawson said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Gary Lawson singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kent Wilkinson in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. For the year Lawson is batting .302 with 11 home runs. |
