Bell on Fire, Named Player of the Week Monday, July 14th, 2014 23-year-old Jamie Bell made a few Springfield headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Blake Camden League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 12 hits in 27 at-bats to put up a .444 average. Bell collected 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 10 runs. This year Bell has hit at a .304 pace and produced 60 RBIs, 19 home runs and scored 68 runs. |
