BCL Trophy Goes to Smith of Joplin Monday, June 30th, 2014 At the age of 28, Lucas Smith might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Joplin third baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .586 batting average. For his efforts Smith collected the Blake Camden League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 17 hits in 29 at-bats, 3 home runs and 12 RBIs last week in 6 games. This season Smith is batting .272 with 13 home runs. His totals include 49 RBIs and 34 runs scored. |
