McCann Belts 3 HRs Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 Charlie McCann penned his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against Chicago. He's now among the select sluggers who have hit three home runs in a game. In his record-setting day at The War Dome the Detroit right fielder went 4-6 with 6 RBIs and scored 4 times in the 11-1 victory over the Titans. "It was just one of those days," he said in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." "McCann was locked in," the Chicago skipper said. "We made some pretty good pitches. Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's pretty hot right now. You've just got to tip your hat." Charlie McCann grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jeff Weston in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
